Thai food and Hiking (But mostly hiking)

Yesterday I went to Zurich after Deutsch Kurs to eat with Semu and Christi. We had Thai food. it was so good!!!!

Today I woke up early, and went hiking with my fellow exchange students in my Deutsch Kurs. It was such a fun and awesome day! Hiking was great! After, went went to Basel and we sat and talked in a park by the train station. I really love my new friends. I feel like we are so similar, but so different at the same time. I also feel like I can be myself with no judgement around them, and that is something that I can't do with people I've known for years. I've only known them for 2 weeks. I am going to be sad when Deutsch Kurs ends because I will not see them as often, but I am also excited to start Gymnasium (high school) and get Swiss friends. The other day, my host brother Jonathan had some of his friends over who go to Muttenz (my Gymnasium). They were all very nice and so were willing to talk to me about there lives and feelings (which I've heard is not very common for Swiss people). I am also getting closer with my brothers. I played Mortal Combat with Jonathan the other day. I lost every time, but it was still fun!

 There are signs everywhere in Switzerland! I love it! The streets all look the same in my town so sometimes I get lost, but not for long because I can always find a sign!

It was an overall great day! I'd have to say one of the best so far!

Street Fair!!!!

This past weekend there has been a street fair on and around the bridge that connects Rheinfelden, Switzerland and Germany. They has been street performers and bands playing. I was especially excited for a circus that was going to perform, but the time that they were suppose to perform, it started pouring rain. That was my first rainy day in Switzerland.

This was a really good band. I enjoyed all the songs they played.

These are some street performers who played there instruments and tapped danced. They consisted of a tuba, a trombone, a trumpet, an alto saxophone, and a soprano saxophone.

This was really cool. They were these hanging domes of art, and you could go stand underneath them and look inside. One was filled with fake eyeballs, one had a bunch of those old McDonald toys, one had dinosaur bones and it made it look like they were being discovered, one had cave drawings, and one looked like a jungle.

The Zoo!!!

We will get to the Zoo, but first you have to read my rant because I am outraged! I should just stay off the internet because this morning I woke up and got online only to find out that Ben Affleck is going to be playing Batman in the new Superman vs Batman movie. Seriously!??!!?? That's who they chose to play one of DC's best and most serious superheros! Sure, Ben Affleck did a great job playing the serious guy in Argo. I rather enjoyed that movie. But did the movie Daredevil just slip out of there minds when they cased this role!? When I think of Ben Affleck, I think of Jay and Silent Bob: A comedy. I had high hopes for this movie, and now they are crushed! To me, this movie is now a comedy, and that's not what DC comics are about!!!

But anyways..... Back to today. The Basel Zoo was awesome! We had a scavenger hunt in German to fill out, but it was fun. I'm going to post a lot of pictures I took, and later I might have more when I see the photos my classmates have taken.
